How to Unlock your NFTs in an Emblem Curated Collection

What are Curated Collections?

Emblem Vault (EV) was first deployed on OpenSea on September 9th, 2020. As NFTs began to catch fire during the early portion of 2021 EV found its use-case from an unexpected community, Historical NFTs (HNFTs). As this niche market began to grow throughout 2021 so did the demand for Emblem Vault.

Blockchains integrations grew as Namecoin, Dogecoin, Tezos, and many others were added during NFTs mainstream breakout moment. This demand soared to over 30,000 ETH worth of NFTs traded across Emblem Vault’s OpenSea page. During this massive hype cycle we began to realize that the combination of EV & HNFTs was not a one-vault-fits-all situation. The Emblem OpenSea storefront became jumbled with multi-blockchain assets in a way that was tough to organize. Meanwhile, Emblem Vaults that were created as ERC-721 tokens were not the most optimized way to store ERC-1155-like tokens from platforms like Counterparty and Dogeparty.

After nearly a full year of of ideation, experimentation, and now deployment, Emblem is excited to launch Curated Collections. A new Vaulting Standard that exists as ERC-1155 tokens, which also comes with new features including Batch Minting and additional anti-scam implementations.

Cracking The Vault

Now it’s time to open up that vault. There are a handful of reasons why one may want to bring their Counterparty/Dogeparty NFTs back to its native blockchains. Reasonings may include transactional, collateral, or security purposes. Emblem Vault will never discourage one from removing assets from your vault. There are trade-offs that users will sacrifice from a vaulted or unvaulted asset. The power is always in the user’s hands and we will always encourage practicing proper safety and responsible protocols. Cracking the Vault is quite simple, just follow these quick steps!

1) First check to ensure your Counterparty/Dogeparty NFTs are in the vault.

2) Check to see if any BTC/DOGE has been sent to your vault. (You will need the native cryptocurrency inside of the vault if you plan on sending the NFTs to a different wallet afterwards. This will be used for gas fees on its native blockchain)

3) Click on “Approve Claiming” to allow the Curated Collection contract the ability to move your NFTs to a different chain. (This will only need to be approved once per wallet)

4) MetaMask will display an action that will “allow access to and transfer all of your NFT”. This gives permission to Emblem.Finance the ability to “crack the vault” and transfer it to the the burn address of 0x000… You will always have the ability to access your private keys to any burned vault through the Dapp Emblem.Finance.

Now that you have approved for claiming it’s time to crack the vault!

1) Click on “Claim (Crack Open Vault)” to receive your private keys.

2) Your MetaMask will present a gas transaction to approve burning the vault and in return you’ll receive access to the private keys. You will want to approve this transaction.

Once the vault is cracked it will no longer display on your OpenSea page. In order to access the keys you will need open the Dapp Emblem.Finace.

1) First, click on “My Vaults” then click on “Curated” to open up options for your “Claimed (curated)” and “Unclaimed (curated)” vaults.

2) Click on “Claimed (curated)” to access your burned curated vaults.

3) Click on the vault of your choice that you wish to access the private keys for.

1) Check to see a displayed green “CLAIMED” at the bottom of the vault. This verifies that the vault has been cracked and you are the owner of the keys.

2) Click on “Get Keys” to view the Vault’s Private Keys and Mnemonic Phrase.

3) Approve your signature to “Sign the Message” that will display your private keys to the vault.

4) This is your “Private Key” that can be imported into any Counterparty/Dogeparty wallet. (In this example we are using Counterparty/Bitcoin)

If you’d like to import you private keys into your FreeWallet (Counterparty) or DogeWallet (Dogeparty) then you’ll need to click on “Import Private Key” in the wallet of your choice.

1) Open up FreeWallet, click on “Address Actions”, and then click “Change Address”.

2) Click on “Import Private Key”.

3) Paste the Bitcoin Private Key which you copied from your Emblem Vault.

4) Now your assets have been brought back to their native chain, which gives you more accessibility and control of your NFTs. From here you can send these assets to a different location or keep them stored in the wallet of their native blockchain.
